Have you ever been subjected to a Functional Capacity exam? FCE’s as they are commonly referred to, these tests are designed to evaluate a patient’s capacity to function normally following his injury. It is given that by the time he takes this exam, he has already undergone treatment under the supervision of a certified physical therapist such as the one you will find at Advanced Physical Therapy.
The results of the exam is critical to the attending therapist because it will be his basis for determining the required methods or treatment approach that would further help the patient’s recovery or assistance as he resumes his normal job functions. The outcome would indicate the patient’s ability to perform the basic physical demands of his position at work.
